Ben Glassen is Ready for 2012!

We are lucky to have riders who are not only passionate about bikes, but also passionate about the company!  When things are frantic, chaotic, and crazy around here....it is amazing to receive an e-mail from one of our riders reassuring that we are doing everything for the right reasons.  Thanks Ben!

To the Deity Blog readers,

This will be my second season riding for Deity. From the start Sadie and Eric have been above and beyond supportive. As a youngster, Deity was always a company that I could relate with and appreciate. Rider owned, bringing to the table aftermarket products that are exciting and cool to personalize your bike. The old school Horror Film theme that echoes through the products, the website and their apparel bring an original edgy element to the cycling industry. Mountain Biking is a Hardcore sport and Deity keeps it that way.

When I first contacted Eric the owner of Deity for sponsorship, his response came to me as a surprise. In his reply he wrote, "I have kept tabs on your riding for the past year (2010) as I have a fond appreciation for style on a bike and you have a lot of it." Talk about encouraging and supportive words from a man who has built a company I have forever admired. Our partnership began from there with a mutual relationship of huge respect.

After suffering a broken arm in June 2011, I managed to talk my doctor into postponing a second surgery until the end of the summer. That allowed me to ride for 6 weeks through August and September. I rode at Crankworx Colorado (with what we later found was still a broken hand) where I place 10th overall. As I returned to Canada I had frantic messages on my phone with a last minute invite on a sponsored trip to Switzerland for the Monster Energy Slopestyle. Sadie was quick to put some parts in the mail so I could build up a hardtail for my adventure. Attached are photos of that Transition Trail-Or-Park built full Deity. It came out just over 25lbs.

Sadie and Eric, I can't thank you enough for your support. I had my second surgery in September and was able to start riding early January 2012. Im still taking it easy while riding, not doing any tricks or riding jumps yet. I have been in the gym 5 days a week building back up for when in March, I can ride jumps and get my tricks dialled for the 2012 FMB World Tour. All hope was lossed for a world ranking last year. This year's goal, top 25 in the world to insure I ride the FMB Invitational events.
