Richie Rude Gets 9th at the US Open!
The results are in and deity's Richie Rude lands 9th at the US Open DH finals! What some may not know is that he pulled off 9th place with a broken chain! Insane!
Only 15 years old and leaving his mark in his pro debut year!
A mentor to Richie, deity's Lars Tribus was pinning it all weekend on his new GT rig. It is amazing to see someone who works a 9 to 5, is a dad, and comes in on the weekend and slays people. Lars is one in a million...

Richie Rude Qualifies 19th at US Open!
The competition is stacked at this years US Open and with Pro DH qualifying going down yesterday, it was impressive to hear that deity's Richie Rude came in 17th place! Young, hungry, and putting down some impressive numbers, we cannot thank Matt DeLorme enough for keeping us updated and sending pics daily! We are proud of Richie and look forward to seeing what he pulls off in the finals!
Sculpted Inspiration for your Viewing!
Cob recently e-mailed our way pics of his backyard from last year. As we are working everyday on the new site for a mid-June release...these pics are teasing us to get away from the computer and go dig. We have a lot more digging to do and we just cannot wait to get done with the site and finish some of our lines! With deity riders like Zach Hensley and Cob slaving away everyday on their art, there is nothing like the feeling of moving dirt and making your vision come to life. Now...go dig people!

Dennis Hopper Dies at the Age of 74....
After a long battle with prostate cancer, film legend Dennis Hopper has passed away at the age of 74. Watch "Blue Velvet" and see one of the many reasons he will be missed. RIP.
A Universal Classic For You To View!
Every week at the deity compound, we do double features of films that range from classics to B- rated cult offerings. It is always great to dive into a classic that set a standard in film making to this day, so watching the 1935 Universal Studio film, The Bride of Frankenstein, finished the night perfectly. Starring the beautiful Elsa Lanchester and the iconic Boris Karloff as "the Monster", Bride has been critically rated as one of the best films ever made and without a doubt, became one of the most influential through its use of shadow, make up, and at the time, shocking subject matter. Moving, poignant, and beautifully acted...The Bride of Frankenstein is a must for any film connoseur and if black and white films bother your eyes...then you are missing out on some classics that redefine film making. Check it out on DVD...

What we are listening to....
We will never forget the first time we came across the Dresden Dolls in 2004. The raw and skilled presence they bring on stage is nothing we have ever seen or will ever see again and has made them one of our favorite bands of all time. The self proclaimed "punk rock cabaret", the Dresden Dolls are comprised of Amanda Palmer and the brilliance of Brian Viglione on drums. Yes, two people...two people who are incredibly creative, talented, and have put out some amazing albums before going on separate paths that have found Amanda releasing a solo album and recently releasing the critically acclaimed "Evelyn, Evelyn" album. They are powerful on stage, passionate about what they do, and hopefully one day...they will reunite, tour, and bring their energy back on stage. Playing right now as I work on the new deity site, read more for a vid that showcases the insane skills of Brian Viglione during the performance of "Half Jack".

An Update From the Rude Camp...
As you know, the second round of the PRO GRT went down this past weekend with Andrew Neethling getting the top podium spot. On board the deity Fantom DM stem, Blacklabel bar, and Decoy 2.0 pedals, deity's Richie Rude was 17th out of 60 fast pros which is not only amazing due to his age, but also the fact that this was the same mountain that claimed his spleen two years ago. Karen mentioned that he was nervous, but from being one of the fastest guys on two wheels...he handles nerves just fine. Also, Richie won the Jr. Worlds Qualifier spot and even though he is too young to go, it is a sign of things to come. Good job Richie! (pic above by Ian Hylands)

Round #2 of the PRO GRT at Plattekill...
The second round of the PRO GRT series has made it way East to the trails at Plattekill where many of the top riders have convened to be challenged by the technical courses of the East Coast. Ian Hylands and Matt DeLorme are both present and taking pictures, so expect a lot of coverage throughout the web. Thanks to Ian Hylands for snapping this pic of deity's Richie Rude who is looking to be in top form! We will keep you guys updated and get ready as the US Open is coming up soon!

Danzig 9 City Tour Update...
We were just contacted that Gorgeous Frankenstein will be joining Danzig at the Knitting Factory for the 9 city tour in support of the upcoming Danzig album "Deth Red Sabaoth". As some may know, Gorgeous Frankenstein is ex-Misfit's guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein's latest project that also finds ex-Misfit's drummer, Dr. Chud, on drums. The news is that they will be joining Danzig on stage to play multiple classic Misfits tracks, so if you love the classic Misfits sound...you cannot miss this 9 city tour. We wont be...

Cierra Smith's Blacklabel and Fantom DM....
Photog Bret MacKinnon was at the Spring Thaw and caught some pics of Cierra Smith's deity set up on her bike. Running the deity Blacklabel bars, Fantom DM stem, and more for 2010, the kit looks amazing on her new Specialized.

Phenom Cierra Smith on Board with deity!
Recently, we signed on young phenom Cierra Smith to our pro DH crew. Destined to be the fastest USA female, Cierra is only 15 years old and kills people everyday at the races. With a 5th place finish in the pro division at the Spring Thaw this past weekend, we will be working closely with Cierra as she sets her sights on the big names of the sport. Trust us, it will not be long until everyone is aware of her name, talent, and the fact that she is probably faster than you. Welcome to the team Cierra! (photo. Bret MacKinnon)
The Impact Guns Shooting Range....
With the birthday of J.B.D the Gunslinger on May 17th, we kidnapped him and took him to the shooting range at Impact Guns to let off some frustration with some 9mm and .45 calibers! An expert marksmen, J.B.D the Gunslinger blew holes on heads, torsos, and more with his technique. The most impressive shot of the day would have been Sadie though who owned the 9mm's and made her presence known magazine after magazine. Happy B Day!

Danzig 9 City Tour coming June to Boise!
Anybody who knows us...knows of our passion for the original Misfits and the brilliance of Danzig, so when we were contacted that he was coming to town on June 24th and we had a reserved skybox table to ourselves at the Knitting Factory, we were excited to say the least. Next month, Danzig will be releasing his first full album in 6 years titled "Deth Red Sabaoth" and will be embarking on a 9 city tour to select cities throughout the United States. The Knitting Factory is a critically acclaimed venue, so to have him choose Boise is a testament to his fan base here and the quality of the venue. Some of the very best shows we have ever seen have been from Danzig, so without a doubt, this show will be at the top. With Henry Rollins, Danzig, and Rasputina coming to town...our worry of missing quality live shows after moving from Portland is a thing of the past!

The Ian Hylands interview...
Long time close friend and one of the very best photographers in our industry, Ian Hyalnds, recently had an interview on Pink Bike that we somehow missed...until now. Make sure to check it out and get some insight into why and how he does his craft. We have known Ian since the days I worked for MRP and the catalog of photos he has put out since that day have been tremendous, influential to other photographers, and have put him at the very top of his game. Keep an eye out for a future issue of Decline Magazine as they will be doing a feature on deity with images shot by Ian. We will probably fly him out to the compound in late June and look forward to having his creativity and talent behind the ideas we have put to paper. Until then, check out the interview and make sure to visit his web site!

Dusk Til Dirt Vid Resurrection!
Our "blog" is quite new and until now, we never had the chance to post up vids our riders sent our way. So, we will make up for some lost time with the first installment of Zach Hensley's vid series "Dusk Til Dirt" courtesy of the deceased Littermag web site. This installment features deity's Taylor Sage and if one things is apparent from the vid...T Sage has too damn much style on a bike. Spomer picked up the lost footage from Zach, so expect to see new edits coming together at the Vital MTB site.

Road 34 Jump Jam Went Down....
Road 34 Contest 2010 from Dylan Pfohl on Vimeo.
Pro Developmental deity rider, Andy Holloway, sent us a vid from last weekends annual Road 34 Jump Jam in Colorado. With a mixed class of 20" and 26" riders, Andy got 4th in the big wheel class and showed the twenty inch riders, that MTB is catching up quickly! As you can tell...most of our vids on the deity blog are dirt jump or DH related. Why? We love dirt.

Brett Tippie stops by the deity booth....
One of the original influences behind what we call "freeriding", Brett Tippie visited our booth at Sea Otter where we spoke briefly about the new deity Decoy LT pedals. Make sure to check it out at around 2:53 on the video and keep an eye on Brett at the trails as he will be running our Decoy pedals on his bikes this year...
