Allen Stoddard testing the Blacklabel!

Our newest addition to our pro DH crew, Allen Stoddard, just e-mailed us a web edit he put together of him testing the new deity Blacklabel bars! The California native, Allen is an incredible person on and off the bike and will be found running our Blacklabel bars, Classic grips, Vendetta 3.0 cranks, Alibi Sprocket, Vertigo DH seats, and Tibia posts throughout this season. It is incredible to see our riders take the time to film, edit, and spread the word about deity. Their passion for what we do keeps us motivated to step things up month after month. Thanks Allen!

The new deity Vendetta 3.0 packaging...

Here are a couple of pics of our new high gloss packaging for the upcoming Vendetta 3.0 Crankarms. The kit will consist of crankarms, hollow flush mount crankbolt kit, socket/ratchet installation and removal tool, 4mm chainline spacer, and hollow sprocket boss bolt. The new Vendetta 3.0 cranks are light years ahead of our current cranks and anything else we have tested. They feature our all new 3D Laser Cut technology at all weld junctions which increases weld contact by 50%, reinforced wrap around spline boss, butted arms, clean graphics, and will come in 165mm, 170mm, and 175mm lengths. We are moving away from the complications of too many parts and proprietary hardware, so the new Vendetta 3.0 arms are extremely easy to install, set up, and can even be removed using any standard crank puller. 2 years in the works, 6 prototypes designs tested, and the final product shows the detail. We are just glad to finally design a box to match the goods inside!

Go Pro at the Post Office Jam....

Vital recently uploaded the Go Pro edited vid from the Post Office Jam. It looks like some insane riding went down, but more than anything, keep an eye out for Jacob "Cob" Hyde who is the latest addition to the deity roster. Cob will be flying our flag full through and through as he will be riding every part we make and be one of the few guys on board our new deity Cryptkeeper prototypes. With Cob and Zach, we have two of the most legit trailbuilders in the United States representing the Cryptkeeper and only the best is to come.

Henry Rollins at the Knitting Factory...

Just a heads up to all locals! Tickets have gone on sale for the latest Henry Rollins spoken word tour and he is coming through Boise on June 20th. Make sure to pick up tickets at the Knitting Factory as they will sell out quick. If you do not know who Henry Rollins is, then you have never heard of Black Flag which is a true shame. Check them out and if you like intelligent commentary on all things of life, Henry's tours are always a good time. We may not always agree with his political banter, but it is always good to see both sides of the coin.

The deity Fantom DM Stem...

Here is a draft of an upcoming ad for our UK distributor Hotlines...

deity BlackLabel and Fantom DM set up....

Everyone is dying for more shots of the new line up, so as we count the days until the new site debut, we will be posting quick shots from time to time to give you a preview. Matt DeLorme sent us a few pics from Sea Otter of Richie's new Specialized being set up by Kirt Voreis' All Ride team mechanic. The two parts you see here are our new BlackLabel Handlebar and our Fantom DM stem which were drawing quite a crowd at the event and are only a sampling of what is to come. Some of the quick specs on the parts are:

deity 2010 spy pics are rolling in....

If you head over to Sicklines you can check out a sampling of some of our new parts we have been working on for the past 2 years from their recent trip to Sea Otter in Monterey. It lists brief tech spec info, but you can expect expanded explanation on the designs on our new site in mid May. Thanks to the crew at Sicklines for coming by at the event, taking the time to post this up, and since this is just a taste...you will be seeing even more soon.

Do you know who Richie Rude is yet?

Our pro roster is going through some changes this year as we have picked up a few new top DH racers and trail bosses to represent deity in the front lines. One of the most exciting additions has been Richie Rude who is so damn fast that they forced him to jump up to pro level at the age of 15 because his times were 30 seconds faster than anyone else in his division. He is riding for the All Ride crew that is fronted by Kirt Voreis and will be on board our new flagship World Cup caliber bar, the Blacklabel, our new Fantom DM direct mount stem, and our new Decoy LY pedals. Keep an eye out for Richie this year and thanks to Matt DeLorme for the pic of Richie attacking Sadie!

BikeMAG coverage of the Cryptkeeper at Sea Otter...

Mark Milutin from Bike Magazine stopped by our booth at Sea Otter to check out the 4th prototype of the deity Cryptkeeper. We powdercoated it to match our upcoming new 656C light blue limited edition DJ parts and from the response, people loved it. You can check out the brief mention on BikeMAG's blog. There should be more pics popping up throughout the next couple of weeks, but as the Cryptkeeper and Streetsweeper frames will not be released until Halloween, we are still keeping quite a few details under wraps.

The deity Emblem 3D hat....

A lot of people have been asking us about the black on black deity Emblem 3D hats we had at Sea Otter (as modeled by deity pro rider Nadia Steinbrecher at the vid premiere in Monterey). They are part of our all new softgoods line up that consists of hats, tons of shirts, and hoodies. They will all be available the minute the new site drops in mid May. With a 3D embroidered black deity Emblem logo on a fitted flat bill black hat, the hats are sexy! Thanks for the pic Nadia and props to photog Ian Hylands for capturing Nadia and deity's Emily Johnston at the Follow Me premiere.

We are finally back from Monterey....

How it did not rain or blow sideways everyday was a miracle! We were honored by the tremendous response the sneak peek our new parts received all week long! To work everyday for almost two years on revamping everything we have been known for and keep it top secret with the exception of select riders, can leave a person wondering what others may think. We do what we do for all of you, so to have countless people come through and praise the direction, was incredibly rewarding and since this is just a sample of what we are up to...only the best is to come. We want to thank all of you for taking the time to stop by and a special thanks to the crew at RideSFO, SDG, all of our riders, and people we can finally put a face to the name. Without you guys, the event would not have been the same!

Bow to the gift that is T Sage...

Look, we have said it thousands of times, deity's Taylor Sage has the best style on a bike, period. People need to take a clinic on how to whip properly from him and not look like they are stiff arming their bike through a set. Sure, some can pull 3 whips and all that crap, but to look good doing it is a different story. Sunday was T Sage's birthday and seeing him live through another year is a cause for celebration. So, we are drinking a jack and coke in celebration of the gun toting, straight shooting voice for those sick of the straight and narrow. We love you Sage!

Lars Tribus update from Guatemala!

I just returned from Guatemala, where I raced in the Pan American (or Intercontinental) Championships.  It was a really neat trip.  I was lucky enough to meet some new up and coming shredders as well as some old friends.

Over all the trip was great.  I was not overly excited about the results I posted, but I'm thankful that after my crash in the downhill finals, I left uninjured.  The 4X coarse was UNREAL.  It was one of the best I have ever seen, but clearly built for a hardtail.  Very smooth, and BMX track/Dirt Jump inspired.  It was super challenging on a DH bike, but I only brought one bike and had to live with being over equipped.  I did qualify first, but finished 2nd in Masters 4X.  I was simply being pulled out of the gate. I had unfortunately saved all my crashes for the weekend for my race run, and finished 5th in Masters DH.  I guess these are the kind of things that keep us motivated, right?

On a positive note, I recently accepted a new sponsorship from GT Bicycles.   I got the new rig built the day before I left, so this was the first time I rode the new GT Fury, and the bike is amazing!!  It's SO sick, very light, and the quietest DH bike I have ever heard (or not heard). All I can say about it is WOW!

Day two at Sea Otter...

It has been chaos at our booth, we have been packed, and the response to the all new product line has been phenomenal. It is reassuring to know the direction we are going is being embraced and it is rewarding to have people we respect love everything we are doing. We have seen some strange sights pedaling around Sea Otter, some incredible people we have not seen in a long time, and after watching too much slow-mo tonight at the films premiere, we are ready to check out Hampton's new movie tomorrow night where deity's Adam Hauck and the one and only, Lars Tribus, will have sections. Until the next update...check out some sights from the event and some of the people that have made day two memorable...

On the road to Sea Otter...

Our wireless in our room is non-existent, so updating you has been an obstacle. Nevertheless, if you are reading this...we have made it online. The drive took 12 hours, we hit some snow and rain in Truckee, and our deity Cryptkeeper proto build was covered in a fine layer of oily grime by the time we arrived. Day one of Sea Otter Classic has come and gone. After setting up our pit spot late in the morning yesterday, we are finally up and running. The response to the new line has been phenomenal and we thank everyone who stopped by throughout the day. Now, hopefully we do not lose our voice already.

The Chris Donahue interview...

Recently, Decline Magazine posted up an interview with classic deity frontman and street pioneer, Chris Donahue on their web site. We have had a relationship with Chris since the days I worked at MRP and when deity started in 2004, we were honored to have him fly our colors. We cannot speak more highly about Chris as a person and it is great to see him living his dream, riding every day, working hard, and being one of the best dads around. Make sure to check out the interview at Decline!   (pic by Anthony Smith)

Packed and ready for Sea Otter...

It is that time of year and Sea Otter has arrived again. We will have a booth showing a sneak peek of some of our new products we are going to release on everyone next month. Check us out next to the RideSFO booth number 808 near the food court and make sure to stop by. We will have a prototype of the deity Cryptkeeper built up, tons of gear, some of our old shirt designs for sale at $10, and our current Dirty30 handlebars at a Sea Otter special of $30 each! Ridiculous! We need to move them to make room for the new!

We will make sure to take pics while we are there and by the time we get back to the deity compound, we will be diving head first into the completion of the new site and getting some of the lines on our trails dialed. We have a lot of digging to do....

Bye Bye Roadrunner Records....

After a long arduous battle with major label Roadrunner Records, front woman of the Dresden Dolls, Amanda F*cking Palmer, has announced that they are finally free of the contractual burdens by the label. What does that mean for fans? More music, more creative control, and hopefully the opportunity for Amanda and Brian to make money how they see fit. It was a long time coming and with Amanda being an advocate for artistic control and rights, the best is now yet to come. You can read Amanda's exploits at her blog and if you have never heard of The Dresden Dolls...you may want to pick up their albums as they are always on play at the deity compound. Congrats Amanda and long live the Punk Cabaret!

Faith No More on tour...is it true?

There is hope...after so many years, Faith No More has finally reunited and are on tour in Europe destroying stadiums one day at a time. Anybody who truly knows us, knows of our respect for the work Faith frontman Mike Patton executes on every project he touches. Since the late 80's and continuing until today, Faith No More defined energy and creativity and delivered one of my top 10 albums of all time in "Angel Dust".  If you are in Europe and have a chance to see them live...do not screw up that chance as it may not happen again.

A deity Cryptkeeper bike check....

VitalMTB recently hooked up with deity frontman Zach Hensley for a photo shoot on his prototype deity Cryptkeeper frame. Slated for a Halloween release, the Cryptkeeper is a dedicated dirt jump frame and from the response of people who have ridden it, it is the best frame they have been on. The final drafts will have some slight changes, but the geo is dialed as we have been spending a year making sure it is spot on. We are just finalizing colors, so you should see a final version by Interbike kiddies! Check out the VitalMTB bike check...

What we are listening to...

To no surprise, when we first heard Messer Chups...we fell in love. We are currently working on our new site for a May release and so far, they have been the soundtrack. The self proclaimed "Surf Horror Inferno Bugi", the Messer Chups are infectious with classic horror and sci-fi film samples and are refreshing in a day of lack luster music. Sure, they are definitely not for everyone, but for us...they are just what we needed.  A Media page on them is in the destined future. Until then, go research some information on Messer Chups and pick up their album "Zombie Shopping" at I Tunes!
